My Pastor shared an amazing message to begin the 2022 New Year regarding when Paul was doing a report card of his own life (2 Timothy 4:1-8). He posed the question, “If Jesus had evaluated us, what would our report card have looked like in 2021?”
Jesus was all about relationships and shared in Matthew 22:37-39 the greatest commandments with the first being, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” The second is like unto it, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”
How would you evaluate your commitment to do spiritual warfare in 2021? Would you say:
· You finished well
· You fought the good fight
· You finished your race- goals set for 2021
· You kept the faith
Prior to COVID-19, I was diligent about sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ wherever I went because I felt that every soul needed to experience Him and His truth. Psalm 34:8 states, “O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” Remembering that Jesus is “The Way” is an important fact that needs to be shared.
The pandemic isolated us and caused individuals to be more secluded and guarded; separating them from others because of fear. I have tried to respect people by giving them their space, which has resulted in me losing those precious conversations about kingdom building.
Battles we should fight for should be to:
· Stand on the Word of God
· Value of Life and the Unborn
· One man One woman
· Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ-The Way
· Sexual Impurity and Sexual Abuse
This is a new year, 2022, Let us seek to fight for things of God! I like the way Pastor Andre put it, “Choose a hill worth dying for.”
Let us build the kingdom of Jesus Christ and get in the “good fight.” Jesus is soon to return!
How will Jesus evaluate you in 2022? Will he say, “Well done thy good and faithful servant (Matthew 25:21)?”
