A Healthy Body Is Fundamental

Our bodies are giftings from God, he wants us to cherish and use them to accomplish the purpose he has set for us. The Holy Spirit dwells inside of us, (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) he leads, guides and teaches us all things from the Father. He is our Comforter! May we offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God which is our reasonable service (Romans 12:1).  It is God’s will that we prosper and be in health even as our souls prosper (3 John 2). So, what are you doing for your body’s wellbeing?

Signs of the Times For Our Bodies

We live in a society that is busy and quite stressful. Individuals are constantly on the move going to and from their jobs, carrying our children to various extracurricular and community activities, attending churches and other societal meetings. Bodies are consumed with anxiety! Many of us are overweight, lack proper exercise, poor diet and sleep habits, causing mental illnesses and other problems in our bodies. One of the biggest stressors of people is caused by inflation and the inability to purchase medications, foods, and other things needed for the family. So again, what are you doing to take care of your physical body?

Natural supplements or Pharmaceuticals

Individuals may want to receive assistance to develop their bodies in healthy conditions, therefore natural supplements or pharmaceuticals may be needed. Supplements are harmless, non-addictive and usually taken with meals to assist with deficiencies or lack of nutrients.1 These natural supplements may consist of multivitamins, Vitamin C, vitamin B Complex, and Calcium which may be used for people that face obstacles like high blood pressure, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis. More powerful supplements as probiotics, CoQ10, glucosamine/chondroitin and fiber may also be used for individuals with medical conditions. You may choose to research these along with your medical professional to determine if natural supplements are right for you.

Medications or pharmaceuticals are chemically induced to diagnose, prevent or cure diseases. They may be over the counter or by prescriptions in the form of pills, capsules, drops, liquids, inhalers, powders, injections, ointments, creams, gels or patches that stick on the skin. Rigorous testing and trials with FDA approval determine if the medicines are effective in the market.2 Medications may be Antibiotic, Cardiovascular, Stimulants, Opiates, Antidepressants and Tranquilizers which are used to stop viruses and infections in the body. Individuals should know their bodies, choose appropriate nutrition and or consult a medical professional to better understand the natural or prescriptive regimen needed.

Holistic Medicine

I have decided to seek Holistic Medicine towards the lowering of my blood pressure. Prescribed medicines did not work without dosage increases which I declined. This holistic health care approach seeks to serve the whole person in mind, body and spirit and is based on the individual’s personal feelings. It addresses the psychological, familial, societal, ethical, and spiritual needs as well as biological dimensions of health and illness 2. I received the information from a scan taken of my body by the holistic doctor which provided a strategic glimpse of things happening internally of present, past, and future events. Scans of the body help to determine risks of stroke, cardiovascular and other diseases. A Call to Action to all individuals is to take control of your body, seek to do what is best for you through exercise, diet, supplements or medications and insight from your medical provider along with growth in your spiritual walk with God. I can say that I have completed a three week process, although I went four following choice proteins of chicken, fish and turkey, avoided all hydrogenerated oils using Olive oil and plant butter. This was a major change for me, non dairy products, sugars, flour, and many fruit I desire, however, I observed lowered blood pressure, but did not get to the desired rate of 120/80, but lost 4 lbs. I plan to try to implement some of the suggestions as a way of life.
