A Memorable Birthday Celebration in Oklahoma

Why Birthdays are Important to Me

Birthdays hold a special place in my heart. I cherish the opportunity to celebrate not only my own, but also those of others. I like to share mementos, cards, and thoughtful gestures to show my love and care. This year, I was blessed with the chance to share my special day, July 4th with my grandson Evan, whom I rarely see due to the distance between us. I enjoy sending him special gifts or having him choose what he would like from Amazon for his birthday.

A Special Journey

My grandson lives in Oklahoma a distance from me as I mentioned earlier. This is a place I had never visited before, although I had often heard about it from my mother, who admired The City of Faith and Oral Robert’s Healing Ministry in Tulsa Oklahoma. This trip took me to Oklahoma City and Moore Oklahoma not to the City of Faith, but the experience was no less meaningful.

Family Celebrations

I felt deeply honored by my grandson, his mother and grandmother who went out of their way to make my visit quite memorable. Our first day together involved a visit to the First American Museum or American Indian Museum. The exhibits bought back memories of attending Powwows in Indian Mound, Troy North Carolina. The authentic Regalia and Indian Mud Huts along with stories shared by cultural leaders made their experiences vivid and heartfelt to all.

Building Memories and Engaging Activities!

On the second day, I watched with pride as Evan’s Cub Scout troop marched in the local parade despite the rain. We visited an amazing museum created by Artists. This was an exquisite place where every activity was designed to inspire creativity and critical thinking in the children. As an Educator, I found this especially rewarding because it encouraged the children to use their five senses, I loved it!

Evan, a passionate gamer, wanted to share his love for Arcade Games with me at Brickopolis with Food, Fun and Apparel. While I accepted his challenge, I quickly realized that the games were not for me, but Evan and his mom enjoyed a competitive and enjoyable time together. Our day ended with fireworks, delightful, however, they were not as impressive as I have seen in North Carolina now due to the cost of shipping and tariff fees.

Unexpected Birthday Surprise

The highlight of my birthday came with a surprise visit from my little sister, Debra who drove five hours from Killeen, Texas to Moore, Oklahoma to visit me on my special day July 4th. Her sacrifice touched my heart greatly! The Brown Family, Jasmine, Nicole and Evan surprised me with this amazing birthday party. Since I am not eating sugar, they provided me with a large slice of watermelon with a candle on top in place of birthday cake. They also gave me a beautiful card and gift, priceless! In addition, my sister showered me with multiple gifts and financial blessings, thank God for this amazing celebration of Love!

What is your memorable birthday? What kind of things did you do for your special day? Have you tried to make someone else’s birthday special for them? Have fun creating memories!
