The weather is nice, sun is shining and the little ants and other creeper crawlers are maneuvering around everywhere, what a delight!
Think I’m going to go outside and unearth the weeds. What does that mean to you? The country girl in me has come alive! I began by pulling up the weeds from the soil. Underneath, I find critters busily moving about in their own merry way. The red ants and squash bugs are looking for a place to hide from my gazes. I am ready to smash and unalive these critters hindering their advances to the new crops I choose to plant later.
Midway with this project, I was able to pull up and discard the extra weeds that came from the soil. Later I decided to provide extra nutrients once I raked the area ever so gently to remove all excess weeds.
The final gift for me was to add Ironite White Pellets and Fertilizer 8-8-8 to the soil which is a little less in power than the ole fashion 10-10-10. This process is exciting because it takes me back to working with my dad and getting deep down in the soil with your hands prepping it to hopefully steer it ready for planting veggies. I am excited about every step developed on this journey.
What are you doing to begin the process for newness of life in planting? What do you think you will plant first? Starters inside or in the soil outside?
