Give It All to God!

Did you know that Our God is a jealous God? It says so, Exodus 34:14, “Thou shalt worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. You see He desires for us to joyfully spend time with him, in his presence, and in devout fellowship. He wants us to commune with him early in the morning to seek his direction and follow the plans he has set for us. I am reminded of a young man named Judson van DeVenter who loved art and his greatest passion was to become an Art Teacher. (Jeremiah 29:11) reminds us that God has plans for each of us, however sometimes it is difficult to track. As with the COVID victims, many of their desires and passions changed.
Do you believe that God has a significant way of getting our attention if we fail to move in the direction that we must go? Things may begin to happen that shake up our siren status influencing our finances, health, career, causing unexpected situations to happen. As caring parents, we will lovingly use strategies to gently lead our children in the path they must go to avoid harm to them and help them reach success.
Prior to COVID, I knew parents that were excessively involved in engaging their children into special travel sports leagues. In addition, the parents had demanding careers which provided very little time for extended family, like parents and or grandparents causing some to suffer lack. Our whole world was forced to reevaluate our lives and to consider what really matters. Many of us that suffered through coronavirus were shut up in our homes, separated from our schools, family and away from normal routine. When the chaos was lifted from the virus, individuals sought to build relationships, talk to each other, create new businesses from their passions, played games, and built memories. In conclusion, many individuals made decisions that were best for their families. Von DeVenter, struggled with the decision to follow his passion to teach art instead he made the best decision of his life to become an Evangelist as prophesized.
Evangelist Judson von DeVenter touched the life of many students in Bible colleges and at Florida Institute which was later changed to Trinity Bible College. Through one’s man’s obedience to God and his inspiration to the gospel of Jesus Christ, many souls were saved and compelled to come to Jesus Christ by one of the most famous ministers of our times Dr. Billy Graham. Through the struggle of Evangelist Judson von DeVenter to give up his passion and surrender all his desires to God, he created a well-known song “I Surrender All “which was used in many of Dr. Graham’s revivals all over the World.
As with the Coronavirus, when we give our cares to God because he cares for us, there is no limit of what he will do. We learned that in spite of the virus some plans were delayed and yet fulfilled due to God’s purpose. The Washington Post, August 2020 edition shared that even though coronavirus had influenced our nation and the world, religious faith was increased, students was moved to accept Jesus Christ in revivals and in student led prayer services in Asbury, Cedarville, Ohio, and Stamford Universities. Not only did the Holy Spirit move in our colleges and universities but also in the prisons across the nation.
Have you struggled with a direction that God is leading you, but your heart is someplace else? It is important as with Evangelist DeVenter and the students on the college campuses and universities to know that God will provide the very best decision for your life and mine because he loves and cares for us. Give it All to God, Trust Him! Remember, we can never imagine from God’s leading and where that decision to follow him will take us!
How is God using a decision you have made to make a difference in someone’s life today? You may not know who or how you will inspire the life of others. My slogan as a Life Coach is to “Be inspired! Seek to inspire others!!!
