Book Fair Community Engagement

Neuse River Writers was represented well by the community of Carolina Overlook at Lakeview Manor Book Fair in Clayton. It was a fantastic time to network, meet, greet and share our crafts with others.

Special thanks to Tom Young and his lovely wife for making this opportunity available to each one of us. We were honored and blessed to be in such a lovely venue.

Near the end of the event Mr. Sherwood Williford’s family dropped by for a visit. One of his sons, the wife and five children stopped in from California. The second son from Clayton (not present) was represented by his wife and three daughters.

They were, as many of us enlightened by numerous life and history lessons from one of the authors, Mr. Dennis Schlindwein when he was a Secret Service Agent under Presidents Jimmy Carter, George Bush and George W. Bush. He shared a special story as requested by the group. Mr. Dennis was the May presenter for Neuse River Writers monthly meeting at the Public Library in Smithfield, NC.

Thanks to each one of the Neuse River Writers that came out today to share and make their crafts available for this community that welcomed us to continue sharing our passions with others at this Book Fair and beyond.
